VanOosting (Ph.D., Northwestern University) was Professor of Performance Studies at Southern Illinois University, University of California, San Diego (Visiting), and Louisiana State University (Visiting).  He has chaired Departments of Communication & Media Studies at SIUC and Fordham University, and has served as Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, Seton Hall University.  Presently, he is Professor of Public Communication in the College of Arts & Sciences and the Gabelli School of Business, Fordham University.
